The School Readiness program supports early education professionals in effectively teaching and creating a learning environment for young learners.  The goal is to provide professional development, technical assistance, coaching, school readiness and program development for teachers serving young learners (infants to 2nd grade).  The audience includes teachers, both new to the profession and experienced, and administrators in early education programs.
 

Services include:

  • Support the Texas School Ready! Grant classrooms in Southeast Texas
  • Provide professional development:
    • Math, science and early literacy in early childhood classrooms
    • Educating young English Language Learners
    • High School students seeking to earn a Child Development Associate Credential
    • Best Practices in early education programs
    • Effective instructional strategies for early childhood educators in the Child Care industry and in public schools

TWC Partners with Multiple State Agencies Launching Website to Streamline Early Childhood Information for Texas Parents

The Early Childhood Texas website is a one-stop shop to access information about programs and resources available from the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Education Agency, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Texas Department of State Health Services and Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
