Child Nutrition

Education Service Centers (ESCs) partner with the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) and stand ready to provide the resources and technical assistance contracting entities need to excel in the National School Lunch, School Breakfast Program, SFSP and CACFP.

ESCs offer school food authorities complete, no-cost training and technical assistance services funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered by TDA.  When your nutrition team needs assistanced or training for anything from menu planning to claim filing, ESCs are equipped to provide technical assistance in the form of workshops, labs, on-site sessions, community activities and more.

Region 5 Child Nutrition Services provide school districts, charter schools, and Child and Adult Care Facilitites (CACFP) with a comprehensive range of technical services designed to assist child nutrition staff in schols to meet federal, state, and local program requirement of the United States Department of Agriculture’s National School Lunch Program.

The  Goal of the Child Nutrition Services is to provide information, support, and services that will promote the continuous improvement of child nutrition programs to impact student health and readiness to learn.

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete a Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form which can be obtained online at: https://www.usda.gov/sites/default/files/documents/USDA-OASCR%20P-Complaint-Form-0508-0002-508-11-28-17Fax2Mail.pdf, from any USDA office, by calling (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
