Distance Learning Program Offerings
Unless otherwise noted, all programs are offered from 9-9:45am, 10-10:45am,
11-11:45am, and 1-1:45pm. Please note that all class times are Indianapolis
time (EST).
Indianapolis does not observe daylight savings time (Indianapolis never
changes times), so please keep this in mind when planning programs. To register

Series Classes
You may register for an individual class or sign up for the
entire series. Registration deadlines are 2 weeks before the program runs,
and registration
is on a first
come, first served basis. Visit www.cilc.org to register online.
Classification Series
This series introduces students to amphibians, fish, reptiles, birds,
and mammals. You'll learn the characteristics of each group and meet
some members
of the
different animal classes. Recommended for grades K-5.

Career Moves Series
What does it take to work at the Zoo? Why don’t you ask someone who does?
Your students can have their questions answered personally by a member of the
Zoo’s staff and learn what a day in the life of an IZS worker
is really like. Recommended for grades 9-12.

African Safari Series
Explore the plains of Africa and discover the animals that live
there in this four week series. We’ll uncover the relationships
between predator and prey and look at adaptations these animals
have for survival
on the
savannah.

Animal Adaptations
All plants and animals have adaptations, or special
features, that make them better suited to live
in their
environments. In this
program, students
will
discuss and observe several animals and
plants and determine what their adaptations are
and how they aid in survival. Recommended

grades 2-8.

Amazing Amazon Rainforest are the most biologically diverse places
on Earth. Explore
the plants and animal life that can be found
in each
of the different
layers
of our Amazon
rainforest exhibit,
including an emerald tree boa, a blue-and-gold macaw, and red-bellied
piranhas!

Animal Enrichment
