CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

DHS Band

Membership in the band organization and special units, such as twirlers, flags, and drum majors, is open to students enrolled in the Deweyville Public Schools who can demonstrate the basic skills required for the individual group to which they wish to belong and who are willing to comply with the guidelines and policies of the total band program.

Cheerleaders

Membership in the cheerleader organization is open to students in the Deweyville Public Schools who meet the criteria established and approved in the cheerleader constitution.

FFA

The purpose of FFA is to develop leadership, cooperation, citizenship, self-confidence, character, and patriotism. Membership is limited to students enrolled in vocational agriculture.

FCCLA

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work and societal issues through family and consumer sciences education.

National Honor Society

The object of the NHS is to promote academic excellence through scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Membership is based upon these qualities and a grade average of 88 or above.

Book Club

The book club purpose is to promote literature among the members and to recruit new members into the group to expand the number of leisure readers on the high school campus

Spanish Club

The Spanish club was established to promote the culture of the Spanish speaking people and also to expand the number of students involved in Spanish classes.
