Southeast Texas Cooperative
Purchasing Organization

The Region 5 Education Service Center acts as the fiscal agent for this cooperative and facilitates the process needed for it to be successful. The governing board for a prospective cooperative member approves a resolution to join and provides the service Center with the necessary data on its purchasing needs for each school year. All members’ requests are combined in order to bid the products in large volume, thus encouraging a lower unit rate.

Members of the Southeast Texas Cooperative Purchasing Organization will also be eligible to purchase through cooperatives with which the Region 5 ESC has executed separate inter local participation agreements. Additional purchasing options will include but will not be limited to participation in the Texas Education Service Center Cooperative Purchasing Programs administered by Region 4 and Region 10 Education Service Centers.
