The
Texas Comprehensive School Health Network provides the following
services for all school districts:
- a
yearly assessment of the status of health education needs in
school districts
- staff
development for elementary and secondary health programs for
teachers, staff development for school nurses and physical
education teachers
- technical
assistance to school district staff in planning, reviewing,
developing, and/or implementing health programs or curriculum
resources on health related topics
- technical
assistance to school districts in establishing School Health
Advisory Councils and/or provide ideas for improving an existing
council
- screener's
training for vision, hearing and spinal screening
- a
free-loan Health/HIV resource library including videos, models
and kits
- assistance
with compliance monitoring for health services
