Instructional Leadership Training
Instructional
Leadership Training (ILT) is one of the three areas of mandated
administrator training required for all administrators as stated
in TAC #149.24. It is offered annually by Region 5 and is conducted
during the summer. Notification and registration for the training
is done through the SCOPE summer workshop program.
The
36 clock-hour training is usually conducted in five consecutive
days. The sessions are composed of instruction in and application
of principles of the effective schools, models of teaching,
effective teaching practices, developmental supervision and
conferencing skills.
The
training is designed as a basic overview of supervising the
art and science of teaching. It is a required prerequisite
to the Commissioner's Professional Development and Appraisal
System (PDAS)
